Sweet Paris Crêperie & Café opens in Highland Village | Crêpes in Houston | River Oaks

Sweet Paris Crêperie & Café opened its sixth location last month in Highland Village. They specialize in signature breakfast, savory and sweet crêpes, salads, waffles, paninis and much more. Sweet Paris Crêperie & Café  is french industrial chic restaurant that keeps the focus on colorful crêpes that are conducive for families, friends, and lovers to indulge together in a beautiful setting. This is by far one the best places for crêpes in Houston. Be on the lookout for additional openings in Baybrook and San Antonio!

My mother visited France a couple of years ago and returned home with this new found love of crêpes. Of course, as a lover of all things sweet, I enjoy a good crêpe.  My go to place for crêpes in Houston has always been CoCo Crêpes, Waffles & Coffee in Midtown. Now, I have have new place to stalk. Can I honestly say the crêpes were that different? No, but I will visit Sweet Paris Crêperie & Café based solely on the fact that the new Highland Village location is beautiful.

The Space

Sweet Paris Crêperie & Café is located in that little strip mall across the street from the former home of Smith & Wollensky. If you’re familiar with where the restaurant UP used to be, it’s located in that strip. The parking is limited in front of the restaurant, but you can park across the street. Let me rephrase, I parked across the street and following lunch my car hadn’t been towed!

The restaurant has quaint front patio that’s perfect for people watching on a nice day. The walk-up counter styled service offers guests an up-close and personal view of all the sweet (and savory) crepe making action.

The Crêpes | What to order!

If you’re new to the whole crêpe craze, I suggest you try both savory and sweet. Their menu offers a variety of options to choose from. Honestly, because these are some of the best crêpes in Houston, you really can’t go wrong.

TURKEY, GRAPES & BRIE: roasted turkey, french brie, red grapes, spring mix, walnuts, & dijon mustard vinaigrette ($9.50)

TOASTED BUENO: cinnamon, toasted coconut, dulce de leche, bananas, & vanilla bean sugar ($9.50)

*SEASONAL SOUP: I am a sucker for “seasonal.” Mainly because that is when fruits and vegetables are at their ripest or most flavorful peaks. The Onion soup (this month’s special) was topped with a deliciously melted baked gouda. My lunch date gobbled it up in mere seconds. ($5.95)

Other Items of Note

In addition to serving the best crêpes in Houston, Sweet Paris Crêperie & Café also offers assorted hot teas, milkshakes, beer and wine. There is even a kid friendly menu for your little one’s to enjoy. The crêpes are smaller, but the perfect size for their tiny hands.

Sidenote: If you don’t want a full sized crêpe, order a smaller version from the kid’s menu. The options are more limited here, but I am certain the Nutella crêpe will suit your needs just fine!
