As the mother of a toddler, I know just how difficult it can be to get kids to eat their vegetables. This list of the 16 best kid-friendly vegetable recipes may not be the answer, but it’s definitely a start. It’s important that kids be introduced to healthy foods at an early age. The trick is finding a way to make vegetables taste good for kids. This list of kid-friendly vegetable recipes is also great for picky eaters. Sneaking veggies into your kid’s diets isn’t always the solution. I find it very important to inform Emory of the veggies she is eating. Should you be with someone other than me, I’d like her to be able to verbalize what veggies she prefers and those she doesn’t.

What are the best veggies for kids?

When selecting the best veggies for kids, in my opinion, it depends on the kid. For example, my toddler loves roasted veggies that are a bit sweet. Roasted carrots, sweet potatoes, butternut squash, and peas are her current favorites. Being conscious of my toddler’s food allergies is also very important. We tend to steer clear of nightshades and vegetables that are high in acid. Here are a few additional options for kids who hate veggies.

  • Sweet corn
  • Jicama
  • Spinach
  • Brussel Sprouts
  • Cauliflower
  • Avocado
  • Brocolli
  • Squash

Should you need a few healthy vegetable recipes for kids, this list is a great resource. These kid-friendly recipes will not only get your kids to eat veggies but maybe ENJOY eating them as well.  Make eating vegetable fun and delicious by trying some of the best kid-friendly vegetable recipes from a few of my favorite Black content creators.
