Revelry On Richmond: Now Serving Lunch!

Revelry On Richmond  is probably known best for their forty rotating local and select craft brews on tap, full cocktail and wine menu, live music, flat screen TV’s and killer happy hour. Now they’re serving lunch, and my most recent visit was delicious!

Revelry On Richmond is nestled in the heart of Houston’s Montrose area. Its casual environment and neighborhood feel makes it the go to destination to grab a drink, watch your favorite sports team, and enjoy their sweet outdoor patios. Soon, it will be known as your new favorite lunch spot on Richmond ave.

Although I am a “Revelry virgin” I’ve spent way too much time next door at Maria Selma, slamming margaritas and inhaling avocado enchiladas. Revelry on Richmond is known to most as a sports bar. They’ve now added lunch to the menu. Making it a family-friendly spot serving easy appetizers, burgers and tacos.

THE FOOD

We started with the Seafood Campenchana. It was good, though a little more citrus and salad would have made it even better.

I try to eat a bit lighter during lunch. Especially if I plan to prepare a large meal for dinner. Additionally, I am watching my red meat intake. I decided not to pass on the heavy beef burger and opted for the “The Hot Chick” and Chicken Fajita Tacos instead.

The Hot Chick was spot on! From the soft, buttery whole wheat bun to the juicy marinated grilled chicken. The house-made pickled onions and ginger vinaigrette provided the perfect pucker when paired with the mild arugula and sliced beefsteak tomato. For lunch Revelry on Richmond offers five taco choices from the “Taco Truck” section of their menu. Revelry’s fajita tacos come with your choice of meat (beef or chicken), beans (borracho or black beans) pico de gallo, avocado, red cabbage, queso fresco and house-made jalapeno aioli.

COCKTAILS

Revelry on Richmond also serves cocktails from their full bar during lunch. I really wish we could go back to the 30’s and 40’s (minus the whole “great depression” thing). Back when drinking scotch in your office and smoking stogies was the acceptable thing to do in preparation for a meeting or busy day.

The cool part about the drinks is that they are all inspired by the in house bar staff. I’ve concluded that they’re scientists. I sampled the Jeannie’s Chones Margarita and the Bourbon Berry Smash. Both were great! The hibiscus liqueur was a nice, sweet touch to the traditional margarita. I happen to be a fan of Woodford Reserve Bourbon  since trying it at an event last year. It’s smooth and mixes great with just about anything.
