I love a place where the food is not only tasty, but the menu offers a variety of Gluten-Free, Vegetarian and Vegan options. At True Food Kitchen not only do you feel better about your dining options, but you live longer because of those choices. Located on the corner of Post Oak and San Felipe, True Food Kitchen has become a huge success in the area.
True Food Kitchen offers brunch, lunch, and dinner for the healthy, cost conscious eater.  I had the pleasure of attending their soft opening where as their guests, my companion and I were treated to our choice of “share-able” apps, 2 entrees and dessert. We opted for some of their Gluten-Free, Vegetarian and Vegan options.
We started with the Kale and Avocado dip served with flax crackers. The freshness of the avocado was second to none. I love avocados! Â Freshly mashed avocados with a little lemon, fresh cilantro and salt and pepper..simple. TFK adds a little “zing” to their dip by adding pink grapefruit in place of the lemon & poblano peppers for a little heat. The Bison burger was good. Though a fried egg would have helped bring out the flavors in the cheese and meat.
The Strawberry Rhubarb Crisp & Ice Cream was the best thing ever. There was a small debate about how the last bite was to be rationed. Luckily for me, my lunch date was “watching her figure.” Therefore, she had the pleasure of watching me eat the last of it.
Lastly, make sure to try their healthy beverages! Â The “Green Arnie” was my favorite. A mixture of Matcha green tea and house made honey lemonade. Light and refreshing.
Can’t wait to return.
