These crispy gluten-free baked bbq chicken wings are the perfect addition to your family game night. We refer to these baked chicken wings as “Friday food” at our house. After finding this recipe on Friendly Healthy Eats, I literally make them once a week! Emory loves chicken, so when searching for a recipe that we all could enjoy, bbq chicken wings were a no-brainer, especially because I had a jar of my homemade Kansas City Style BBQ Sauce in the fridge.
With Labor Day (and football season) approaching, this is a great recipe to whip for backyard gatherings. Although I am not promoting large gatherings, once COVID is gone, I can promise these chicken wings will come in handy. For now, make them for your family in the comfort of your own home.

Let’s be real; nothing beats crispy fried chicken wings. But baked wings can be just as delicious if done right. Perfect bake time is essential when making crispy baked chicken wings.

Short answer. Yes. Baked chicken wings are a healthier alternative to fried ones. If you eat wings every week like we do, baking them is the way to go! Less fat, fewer calories, and less sodium. Peridot.

The spice rub was on point and tossing the wings last in the sauce left for super crispy wings, just the way I like them. Will for sure be making these again!

After making your KC Style Barbecue Sauce I jumped at the chance to try another one of your recipes! I must say – another hit. Crispy and delicious girl!
These were delicious and so easy to make. They were perfect for my 5 year old who loves “chicken with the skin”! I normally fry rather than bake me cause I’ve always assumed fried is better. I stand corrected!
Listen. Nothing beats fried chicken wings. Nothing. But if you’re looking for a slightly healthier option that’s still crispy, this is the way. Lol
These wings were AMAZING! They came out with a crisp, and that sauce just put them over the top. We will definitely be making them again.
So happy to hear this tamara.
Cornstarch is fabulous for getting things crispy. These BBQ were so on point with some roasted potatoes and grilled corn. Barbecue weeknight dinner 🙂
I’d never been able to achieve a proper “crunch” on baked wings until this recipe. It’s such a hit with my crew.
Loving the crew!!!!
OMG! Like…for real…OMG! I just finished making these and they came out of the oven about 30 minutes ago. Where are they now, you ask? Oh…they are GONE! They are so delicious!! They were crispy…tasty…mouth watering…perfection! Truth be told…I forgot to drizzle the oil on the wings before I seasoned them, and they still came out DELICIOUS!! These wings are going into the dinner recipe rotation FOR SURE! Thank you so much for sharing this recipe!
