Get prepped for tastings, libations, hands-on grilling demos, and more from the world’s rising cultural and culinary city. The Austin Food + Wine Festival returns with top chef talent, sommeliers and winemakers from across the nation and Austin’s own acclaimed gourmet scene for an experience unlike any other. – The Austin Food + Wine Alliance
Guess who just received their media credentials for the Austin Food + Wine Festival? That’s right, me! I am over the moon about this weekend’s festivities.
AUSTIN FOOD
Austin Food + Wine Festival is quite honestly, a 3 day party where the cool kids are your favorite chefs and mixologists. The festival is set at Downtown Austin’s Auditorium Shores. A 49-acre park with Lady Bird Lake as its backdrop. The schedule for Austin Food + Wine Fest is jam packed with events that are sure to leave this year’s guest satiated and satisfied.
While the majority of festival activities are set to occur Saturday and Sunday, the event actually hosts it’s kick off gathering – “Feast Under the Stars” , on Thursday. I am really looking forward to every aspect of the Austin Food + Wine Festival, but living in Texas has left me with a love for Tacos! “Rock Your Taco” is a star-studded, taco showdown featuring some of the best savory and sweet tacos in the country.
I am super stocked to see what Christina Tosi chef, founder and owner of milk bar has up her sleeve. One can’t forget about Pastry Chef, Jodi Elliot of Austin’s Bribery Bakery. I’ve tried her treats and their vicious!
AUSTIN WINE
In addition to eating, I also plan to drink my weight in wine! Starting with a laid-back, guided tasting with Paso Robles Winemaker, Austin Hope. tasting of his new releases and library wines. The intimate tasting is set to take place in the cool and comfortable living room of his custom-made Tiny Home. Austin and his team are touring festivals nation-wide this summer in the Tiny Home, and collaborating with local chefs in each city for festival activations. In Austin, Jack Allen (Jack Allen’s Kitchen) will be preparing bites to pair with Austin’s Liberty School and Treana wines.
I will be doing my best to highlight and share all the fun with you. Make sure you follow me on facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. #GristleandGossip
