Austin Texas: Capitol City Streets “Top 4”

Austin is a dope city, and happens to be one of my favorite places to visit when the universe blesses me with a long weekend. ATX is known for being “weird”, but this quirky city has never failed me when on the hunt for fun. My most recent visit was a mere 72 hours. Though short, I was able to enjoy a couple of my favorite places! Capitol City Streets highlights my “Top 4” recommendations for food and fun while in Austin!

OLIVE & JUNE

Elegant yet casual multilevel space with a large terrace providing refined Italian fare & wine. Address: 3411 Glenview Ave, Austin, TX 78703

Olive June: Cured Salumi and Cheese Spread

I visited Olive & June for a wedding reception and really enjoyed the “vibe” and ambiance of the restaurant. The rooftop terrace over looking the area is super romantic. The red wine selections boasts of some vintage  Bordeaux blends that are divine. A suggested pairing with their Cured Salumi & cheese Platter is a must. Pro Tip: Ask for extra fig mostarda alongside your platter.

EASY TIGER BAKE SHOP & BEER GARDEN

Hip hangout with both a bakery/cafe and A creek-side beer garden serving simple snacks & cheeses. Address: 709 E 6th St, Austin, TX 78701

Easy Tiger Bake Shop and Beer Garden
On a breezy and cool Saturday afternoon, Easy Tiger is the place to see and be seen. It’s fairly family friendly with games and space for the little ones to run, scream and play. Easy Tiger’s abundant craft beer selection makes it the perfect playground for adults too! The Pro Tip here consists of Three words: PATIOS. PRETZELS. BEERS. In that order!

MOONSHINE PATIO BAR & GRILL

Contemporary comfort food & cocktails in a historic home with a patio.
Address: 303 Red River St, Austin, TX 78701

Moonshine Patio Bar and Grill

Moonshine is a cozy and casual patio bar and grill nestled in the historic Waterloo Compound. A great place to soak up the sun, while sipping on Moonshine and noshing on their cayenne pepper popcorn. I have yet to acquire a taste for moonshine but there was no way I was leaving without trying some. Their “White Lightning” was sip-able, but the Original Moonshine “Corn Dog” Shrimps are why I will return. Huge skewered shrimp, battered and fried served alongside a honey mustard blueberry swirl dipping sauce!

BRASS HOUSE

Swanky venue for live jazz & blues featuring light fare, a wide selection of vodkas & a back deck.
Address: 115 San Jacinto Blvd, Austin, TX 78701

Brass House
Brass House is THE spot in downtown Austin for live Jazz and Blues. They have a rocking menu and a full bar. Pro Tip: Reserve a table, bring the gang and enjoy a night of live music and dancing. The Cocktails are strong and the Fritto Misto is served smoking hot.
