Piggy’s Kitchen & Bar | The Perfect patio in Houston for outdoor Dining

Perfect patio houston

Houston is known for its blistering summer heat. So when the temperatures drop in the Fall, we are itching to find the perfect patio in Houston. Piggy’s Kitchen & Bar is the perfect place for outdoor dining, delicious food and regional beers. During a recent lunch visit I fell in love with Piggy’s spacious patio, scrumptious menu offerings and charming interior decor! Read my review of Piggy’s Kitchen & Bar and why you should add them to your list of perfect patios in Houston.

The Creek Group opened its newest venture, Piggy’s Kitchen & Bar, last year. The quaint and charming Kitchen & Bar is located at 3412 West Lamar in River Oaks, in the former home of The Daily Review. Though its name would lead one to envision a menu riddled with pork entrees and sides, that’s surely not the case. If you’ve been following my blog then you’re aware that I don’t consume pork. Leaving you to question why on earth I would patron a restaurant with a pig as it’s mascot. Rest assured that Piggy’s Kitchen & Bar is much more than a restaurant that only serves pork. It offers a variety of pork-less entrees, sides and salads as well as one of the most perfect patios in Houston.

THE SPACE

At Piggy’s Kitchen & Bar guests have the option of sitting inside, bellying up to the bar or dining outdoors on their spacious patio. The patio is flanked with flat screen TV’s making it THE place to catch your favorite sporting events or watch election night coverage!

Although groups of all sizes are welcome on the patio, making a reservation for groups larger than six is encouraged.

ABOUT THE FOOD

As I mentioned before, Piggy’s doesn’t only serve pork, but there is quite a bit of pork on the menu. As a non-pork eater I appreciated the option of removing the pork from my order, and it being equally as delicious. Oftentimes requesting the removal of pork leaves a dish flavorless and flat. Not the case at Piggy’s.

During this lunch visit I dined with four other ladies. We ordered a variety of sides and entrees, none of which contained pork. They were kind enough to request that their selections not contain pork, so that I could taste and properly review, lol.

THE ACTUAL FOOD

One could easily build a meal from their scrumptious assortment of sides. I highly recommend their sweet potato waffle fries, fried brussel sprouts and crispy shallot topped Bayou Beer Mac n’ Chesse. The Charred Caesar salad comes topped with blacked shrimp and Paski Sir cheese. It’s served alongside massive, crunchy house-made croutons. Easily the best Caesar salad I’ve had!

Other delicious menu items of note: Vera’s Turkey Burger. It’s served with alfalfa sprouts, avocado, feta cheese and a lemon aioli. I’m a sucker for crispy Calamari and Piggy’s is cute perfect. the spicy Thai dipping sauce was LEGIT!

Lastly, if your looking for some tasty lemonade. The fresh squeezed, slightly fizzy house lemonade is what you should order. I could have easily drank a gallon of that stuff!
