Do you only enjoy reading about the new restaurants that open in Houston? Or do you also like to read about those Houston gems with history? Given the vast amount of restaurant options in Houston, there are tons of quality restaurants that often go unnoticed? District 7 (1508 Hutchins) is one of those spots. District 7 has served the Houston (EaDo) community for over 15 years. I have personally been a fan of District 7 for years and am quite fond of their lunch menu. Their assortment of soups, sandwiches, salads and specialty plates are not only delicious, but also affordable.
As a blogger It’s important that I highlight all facets of the Houston restaurant scene. Not just the new places that everyone else is buzzing about. Although, I totally understand the excitement that comes with a new restaurant opening, I find it important to talk about those that may not be widely publicized. But are certainly worth the publicity.
District 7 is one of those places that you can always count on for a quality lunch, that’s affordable and healthy. Their easy walk up counter service, daily specials, spacious outdoor patio and private parking lot are top 4 reasons you can count on a solid lunch crowd of loyal Houstonians at this place.
I usually assess their daily specials when I visit. During my most recent lunch excursion I spent about $20 bucks. I ordered their blackened red fish salad, crawfish biscuits and bread pudding. That’s quite a steal for 3 courses! The crawfish biscuits were amazing. They were basically, pipping hot hush puppies stuffed with crawfish and corn, paired with a honey-tabasco dipping sauce that I could have ordered by the gallon.
Oysters, Angus Burgers, Red Fish, Tenderloin Steaks, Pork Ossobucco Salads, Tandoori Naan Bread Pizzas, and Pastas, are just a few other items that you can find on the lunch, dinner and brunch menus at District 7.
So, if you’re in the Eado area I highly suggest you stop in to District 7. Make sure you grab a complimentary ice cream cone on your way out!
