Woodlands Wine & Food Week + HEB Wine Walk Giveaway

Woodlands Wine & Food Week is an epicurean extravaganza with more than 11,000 participants each year, Wine & Food Week’s gastronomic grandeur features scores of events with more than 500 wines, 75 restaurants, legendary wine producers and culinary personalities. A myriad of education classes, chef demonstrations round out the week long culinary classic.

Wizard Gourmet is none other than former Houstonian Tristen Epps. A finalist on Season Three of “The Taste.” Now with the internationally-acclaimed Marcus Samuelson Group in New York City. Joining the Wine & Food Week Chef of Chefs Hall of Fame this year is recipient Tony Vallone, Houston’s most iconic fine dining restaurant in Houston for 50 years since opening Tony’s in 1965.

Woodlands Wine & Food Week occurs June 6 – 12th and happens to be one of my favorite, annual foodie events. It’s a time to highlight Houston’s culinary talent with a week of festivities fit for a Queen (or King).  The week consists of a couple cool seminars and ends with Woodlands Wine & Food Week’s signature “Big Three” events.

THE LINE UP

Woodlands Wine & Food Week’s signature Big Three events include Thursday, June 9’s H-E-B Wine Walk @ Market Street, a taste and stroll experience in a European-style center featuring wine and light bites at more than 40 tasting stations; Sips, Suds & Tacos, a Texas-size celebration featuring live music, craft beers, value wines and a gourmet “Taco Takedown” competition on Friday, June 10 and Saturday, June 11’s ultimate adult evening: The Wine Rendezvous Grand Tasting & Chef Showcase, where guests sample delectable cuisine and hundreds of wines as chefs representing more than 50 restaurants compete for Wine & Food Week’s Waterford Crystal Chef of Chefs Award and a $5,000 cash prize. To complete the evening, the epicurean experience culminates with the “Just Desserts”contest. A confectionery competition to crown the night’s dessert extraordinaire.

long with the highly anticipated wine seminars with Dr. Konstantin Frank Wines of New York and Revana Vineyards, Wine & Food Week attendees may choose from favorites such as It’s a Guy’s Thing, Women & Wine and All Things Fashionable and The Ladies of the Vine Luncheon.

HEB WINE WALK

The H-E-B Wine Walk @Market Street is one of the most popular and festive evening events during Wine & Food Week. Come to shop, sip and stroll as you explore the magic of Market Street. During the H-E-B Wine Walk, 34-acre Market Street transforms into a festival-like atmosphere. Guests will enjoy 40 tasting stations featuring wines from around the world. 80 craft beers, food sampling from 20 restaurants and demonstrations. There will be two live music stages providing an upbeat background for dancing. And tasting the more than 200 selections of wine from industry representatives. Back by popular demand is the Robert Mondavi Private Selection Chill Zone & Sangria Station.The evening benefits the Signature Series Literacy Education efforts of the John Cooper School.
