Urban Market

Urban Eats has become one of my favorite spots on Washington Ave. The environment is comfortably chic (with an occupancy limit of only 216),  with bold art pieces from local artists adorning the walls, and a crowd just as eclectic and diverse.  The food menu is outrageous and boasts of comfort gourmet goodness, local brews, a delicious desserts.

When you enter Urban Eats you walk smack dab into their Urban Market where you can pick up a coffee or pastry, salad, sandwich or shop about for some house-made, locally sourced and imported epicurean delicacies! This is a one stop – food shop for breakfast, lunch and dinner!

The second floor is always a buzz with a full bar and seating both indoors & out on the patio over looking the strip. Great place to relax with a cold beer and people watch on a bustling summer night.  It has the tendency to be a bit dark given the decor, but once you pop one of those windows open the whole place lights up.

The food menu is genius! It’s fun and family friendly. They offer items to share, huge entree salads , and damn good Pommes Frites. They come with an amazing variety of different and unique toppings, signature sliders and desserts that will have you licking your plate

3 Pig truffled Mac & Cheese

After asking our server for some of his favorites we agreed with his recommendation of the 3 Pig Truffled Mac & Cheese. It was outstanding.. after devouring the smokey diced bacon, pancetta, honey glazed ham and white truffle oil we were officially pigs.

Fried Green Tomato BLT & The Not So Standard Pommes Frites

When it comes to burgers and fries I tend to play it cool and not get all crazy. I ordered the Fried Green Tomato BLT with The Not So Standard Pommes Frites. The sliders were tasty.. although I was missing some of the “zing” that comes with green tomatoes. The Peach pepper jam is out of this world..I could have simply eaten that with a spoon.  The Not So Standard Frites were great too! I am a sucker for truffle oil and the Parmesan was a nice touch..   I paired my meal with a Milk Stout Nitro from Left Hand Brewing Co. and wouldn’t have had it any other way. It was mmmm mmmmm good!

My dinner date ordered something that was a little more adventurous. The Mob Boss and The Mas!Mas! Pommes Frites were a sloppy, yet oh so delicious mess! The sliders come with herbed breaded eggplant, house-made meatloaf, dry salami, fresh mozzarella and a slathering of marinara and coarse Italian parsley. The Frites..amazing! Carmalized onions, black beans & sweet corn topped with BBQ pulled brisket, crumbled queso fresco, served with pico de gallo and garlic lime aoili!  Talk about MIND BLOWING..
