Tank Garage Winery : A Quentin Tarantino Themed Winery | Calistoga, CA

Tank Garage Winery came to life in a 1930s era gas station in the Napa Valley town of Calistoga, California. An area graced with world-class vineyards and cool California made wines. The result is a small collection of “one off,” uniquely-crafted wines that draw heavily on the owners’ personal lifestyles and experiences.

I really enjoyed Tank Garage Winery, and want to give a shout out to Made Society PR for sponsoring the visit. The wines are delicious, fun and unique. The winery is known for their “big reds” and was recently named “Top 10 cool spots in Calistoga.”

TANK

Tank offers a unique spin on bottle art. It was unlike anything I’d seen. Very youthful and vibrant imagery that I understand to be a play on Quentin Tarantino’s films. Additionally, Tank has a private “prohibition room” in the back that seats 30. If you’re looking for a private event space in Napa, give them a shout! If Napa Valley is on your summer radar, I suggest you subscribe to their newsletter to keep up with all the cool stuff happening at the Garage.

TASTING

For $25 bucks you can taste five of Tank’s top wines. Well the word “top” is used lightly here because all the wines are pretty damn good.. for California Wines (burn!).

From their aromatic Stars Like Ours rosé and rich red blends, like The Heavy, a skin-fermented white wine, Lost at Last and their newest releases, Lipstick and GunpowderRoll the Bones and Take It Easy – These wines have been carefully crafted from grape to wine. Their Lipstick and Gunpowder, 2015 California Red was too good not to bring home!

SHIPPING

To be honest, I almost brought home two bottles but my suitcase was too small. I also didn’t want anything shipped because it would take too long. Although, Mario did tell me that they’ve partnered with a company that ships wine in any weather.

Often time southern states are too hot to ship glass/wine. So you have to wait. During last summer’s Napa trip  I purchased four bottles of wine and had to wait damn near til Christmas to receive. Talk about pissed. So this time I just put my bottle in my girlfriend’s suitcase for the win.
